The Mausoleum of Mohammed V is a royal tomb. It is
located on the esplanade of the Hassan Tower and overlooking the mouth of the river Bouregreg.
 The mausoleum houses the tomb of Mohammed V and his son Moulay Abdellah and Hassan II.

It was built between 1961 and 1971 , 10 years of work in which collaborated 400 Moroccan artisans.

The architecture of the Mausoleum was designed by architect Eric Vietnamese Vo Toan , the building is characterized by its classic Arab-Andalusian style according to traditional Moroccan art .


The Mausoleum of Mohammed V is the landmark of the Moroccan capital . It is located on the esplanade of the Hassan mosque and houses the tomb of Mohammed V , the father of the independence of Morocco .


Mohammed V remains in the heart of Morocco , he was much loved . He loved his people during the Second World War , when Morocco was a French protectorate , and Moroccan Jews , as well as the French were to be sent to concentration camps, the Muslim king has indicated that the Jews were equally Moroccan him , and if he was deported , he would too! Jews were able to avoid a deadly deportation.
The mausoleum is located on the seafront , the tomb is made of white marble , and the roof of the mausoleum is green tile, like green Moroccan flag, which represents royalty . It was built in accordance with the tradition of the royal tombs.

Beside the mausoleum, there is the Hassan mosque, the mosque of the Mausoleum, where we celebrate the national ceremonies in the presence of Prince Mohammed VI . Like other mosques in the country other than that of Casablanca, we unfortunately can not visit.
